The appearance of the white tents of "Chaikhona No. 1" on the capital's Triumfalnaya Square, which we wrote about in the last review, turned out to be a harbinger of great changes in its appearance. As the city activist Ilya Varlamov writes in his blog, a competition for the reconstruction of the square was discovered on the State Procurement website, the customer of which was the Overhaul Department, the same one that, according to Varlamov, is responsible for "hack work on pedestrian zones." Thus, shops, flower beds and something like that will soon appear on Triumfalnaya, the blogger writes, meanwhile, in an amicable way, it would be necessary to hold a normal architectural competition to make the square a city attraction. However, such initiatives have not yet been received from the Moscow Committee for Architecture and Construction, except that the café on the square was deemed appropriate; bloggers have no consensus about the reconstruction.

Many people believe, for example, that the area does not need a global redesign, and Varlamov, on a completely harmless improvement, inflates a "fried" topic. However, the level of this very improvement, as users admit, remains very low: “It's awful if you can't hold an open tender. Yesterday I was on Nikolskaya, it is difficult to imagine more disgusting laying of such tiles. And I think that it will be the same with Triumfalnaya,”writes lockall, for example. shurik_m proposes to strive “for the public to participate in the design”, and ytimchuk - to start with solving the problems of Tverskaya - “well, for example, a tram on a lawn from the side of the square. It is difficult on the square itself with trees, but the lawn, concentric circles of fountains around the monument and the bench,”the user concludes.

By the way, in the same blog Varlamov, you can see what Triumphalnaya Square was like at the beginning of the 20th century, when, according to the blogger, it was green and pleasant there, and I wanted to walk with children.

In the meantime, the authorities of the Moscow Region have also taken up the fight for the quality of the infrastructure, where soon, following the example of the Leningrad Region, new design standards will come into force. From now on, new buildings near Moscow will be no higher than nine floors and no denser than 6800 sq. m. per hectare, which, however, does not exclude "unique" projects, the possibility of which will be discussed by the City Council. “Something tells me that all normal guys with the City Council will come to an agreement,” Yaroslav Kovalchuk comments on the news. “Probably, in the next 5 years our institute will be 100% busy justifying the deviation from the standards,” adds Alexander Antonov in the comments. Deggll in the Vedomosti blog notes that the new tough regulations are “unreliable promises, a media volley for elections with a predetermined outcome. Only real control of society and accountability of administrations can bear fruit. " And progchip is sure that the new standards are just an excuse to “accelerate the cost per square meter in the Moscow region to Moscow”; As a result, “only those developers who are ready to build in a new way will remain on the market. In today's conditions, what it means to become a monopolist and get super conditions is quite clear. " However, according to Alexander Kholodnov, in the Leningrad region, where the innovation has been in effect since the beginning of the year, positive results have already appeared: “So far, none of the boys have been able to agree on the rejection. Among the latter, CH-155 was rolled, which is much more serious. The authorities went even further and canceled the PPT for a number of projects where construction is already in full swing, kicked out to the city council, cut the number of storeys by 8 floors, forced to build a kindergarten instead of a 25-storey tower …”.

And in St. Petersburg, on the contrary, they decided to follow the Moscow experience and increase the number of pedestrian zones in the city center. Recently Smolny, for example, supported the initiative of social activists to block the section of Bolshaya Morskaya Street from the arch of the General Staff Building to the Nevsky Prospect. The author of the article on the website karpovka.net considers the venture to be populism that harms heavy traffic, but bloggers are ready to argue: in their opinion, blocking the street will not lead to traffic jams, since they do not drive there, but mostly park. Cars, as the user Peter notes, literally "eat up" postcard views of the city, and the autobahns near the Hermitage, the Summer Garden and on the spit of Vasilyevsky Island have made walks along the embankments meaningless, blogger PSW73 adds. However, opponents of pedestrian zones do not get tired of repeating that the idea is interesting only to tourists, while the people of St. Petersburg themselves, first of all, live and work on these streets, and do not walk.

At the same time, Peter's blogs also discussed another idea of the architect Sergei Politin, who has already become famous on the Internet for his proposal to “dress” the second stage of the Mariinsky Theater in neoclassical facades. This time, the architect proposed to change the clothes of the Regent Hall, which is hated by many city rights activists, on Vladimirskaya Square. “The Regent Hall, of course, is enchantingly ugly, but first we could remove the screen, the colonnade and repaint it in a warmer color,” writes one of the proponents of the no_blogo compromise solution. The more radical ones, like, for example, the user Aleksey, advocate complete demolition, since "in any case, the building will be a bulky chest of drawers." Blogger by nickname The Architect also believes that it is impossible to correct the building with only cosmetic methods, since it is necessary to correct its entire volume, "which is in dissonance with the surrounding historical buildings." In practice, this is a strange and intricate path, the blogger adds, but theoretically the paper “ARCHreanimation” of unsuccessful projects of “the architectural bad taste of the 90s-2000s” is a very remarkable thing.

Incidentally, the philosopher Alexander Rappaport, who writes about architecture, assigns a special place to professional responsibility in the profession: for example, the famous high-tech founder Richard Rogers, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday, this quality has always allowed "to overcome the external dictatorship of the market and power," writes Rappaport. Thanks to the inner freedom of the creative method, Rogers, unlike his colleague Foster, is not in demand in Russia, but he remains an architect who "stands on the side of a man, a city dweller, and not billionaires."

Recently, Mikhail Belov also recalled Richard Rogers and other luminaries of modern architecture: the architect wrote his post about London for the edification of those who dream of turning Moscow, following the British capital, into a “fabulous Mordor”. “Once it was a beautiful-looking city in which the magnificent dome of St. Paul's Cathedral united west and east, north and south into a single harmonious whole,” Belov writes. However, due to the efforts of a galaxy of renowned modern architects from Foster to Piano, from the magnificent panorama, according to the architect, “just a set of objects of different sizes and shapes: a shard, a cucumber, a wheel” remained. But Alexei Vorobyov notes in the comments that the sirs and lords, apparently, simply “not a visionary perception of architecture, which prevails in our country, but the priority is given to the internal structure of the object, and not its external form”.
