The competition for the preliminary design of the IT park, which is planned to be placed on the now inoperative antenna field of the old radio center in Yakutsk, was announced in November 2013. In the future, this territory will be occupied by the large national innovation complex "Land of Olonkho", and the Hi-Tech Park was conceived as a part of it (the competition for the concept of "Land of Olonkho" is now in full swing, at the end of April a dozen finalists were announced, who should submit projects by August 28). The IT-park, in turn, had to be linked to the concept of "Olonkho Land" - which became one of the main objectives of the competition.
The goal of the IT-park is to develop the economy of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), as well as the implementation of unique creative ideas and intellectual resources. According to the terms of reference, the main area is more than 5000 sq. m, will occupy the offices of various companies; an assembly hall, sports and recreation areas are also provided.
The results were announced back in February, with three finalists identified. We present to the readers the projects that took the first, second and third places, respectively.
1st place
LLC "Gorproekt"
Nikolay Alekseev, Spartak Ivanov, Oleg Karamzin, Alexander Tulasynov
The building of the IT-park, according to the winners of the competition, is a simple cubic volume of dark glass with square cutouts on the facades, several stories high. According to the authors of the project, the cutouts symbolize a glowing computer monitor. The very shape of the cube is taken as a symbol of stability and fundamentalness, and the simplicity and brevity of the construction is associated with the focus of the park on the exact sciences.
The building is oriented with corners to the cardinal points, thus, there are no dark and cold rooms in the space of the cube with windows facing exactly to the north. The building is raised on columns above an artificial hill, under which a semi-underground garage was placed (it turned out to be "semi-underground" due to the difference in the elevations of the existing route and the allocated area).
In the center of the IT-park there is an atrium with panoramic elevators. The main area of the building is occupied by office and specialized premises, however, there was also a place for public spaces in the floor plan. The hotel is located on the last two floors.
*** 2nd place
LLC "Tuigun-Project"
Zhdan Nikolaev
The work that took second place is a twelve-story round-shaped volume with protruding elements. There is a lot of symbolism here: the round shape of the plan refers to the cult of the sun among the peoples of Sakha, the rising sun is a symbol of the birth of a new day, which means new ideas and fresh thoughts; in addition, the circle is also a symbol of community, an association of specialists for joint work. The protruding elements of the building twist it clockwise, enhancing the dynamics and resemblance to a solar sign.
*** 3rd place
Gennady Popov
The building of the IT-park in the project, which took the third place, consists not of one, but of four volumes of different scales, united by a common lobby. These parts of the building are square in plan, and in volume - beveled cubes. To the Olonkho Land complex, the building opens up with dynamic "sloping" facades, and to the city - restrained and calm.
The plan of the building refers to the traditional Yakut ornament-amulet "Bies Kharakh", which consists of four squares deployed at different angles. In addition, the slopes resemble mountains, which will connect the project with the nature and culture of Yakutia, as well as with the Olonkho epic.
