Strongoli, where only 6 thousand inhabitants live, is located near the Mediterranean coast, in the Calabria region. It is the development of this region, whose main specialization is agriculture and, to a much lesser extent, tourism, that the construction of the museum should serve. The construction of expressive forms, clad in metal and opposed to the surrounding nature as something almost alien, will be erected on the high hill of Motta Grande near the city.
The building will house an open-plan exhibition space, a multifunctional hall, and a cantilever restaurant above the valley below to make the most of the panoramic views from the hill.
The main entrance of the museum will face Strongoli; the main part of the building will be a two-storey volume of galleries connected to the underground service premises by two lifts. The multifunctional hall can be used both for exhibitions, there and as an auditorium or a cinema, as well as - as an extension of the lobby - for various social events.
Also, Coop Himmelb (l) ay is now busy with another Italian order: as part of the program of reconstruction and "re-evaluation" of the space of the old city in Perugia, they are developing a project for the glass ceiling of sculptural forms for Via Mazzini.
