Baumit Life Challenge 2020 is a significant event for architects and designers from all over Europe. The award can rightly be called an architectural Oscar. The facade is more than just a functional element of the building, it is the face of the house, a striking appearance that sets it apart from the general background of urban development. The façade reflects the style and tastes of the inhabitants of this house. The winners in the international competition are architects who have succeeded in giving the building a unique character through the choice of materials, structure, shape and color. Life Challenge 2020 involves projects that used Baumit products.

The submitted works are evaluated by a group of 13 independent experts. The best projects will get to the final, their authors will be invited to the award ceremony. And just before the main event, the winners will be announced.

The best European facades will be chosen in 6 nominations:

  • Single Family House - "Individual residential house",
  • Multi Family Residential - "Multi-apartment residential building",
  • Non-Residential - "Public building",
  • Thermal Renovation - "Thermal Renovation",
  • Historical Renovation - "Renovation of a historic building",
  • Stunned by Texture - Stunning texture.

Several Russian projects are participating in Baumit Life Challenge 2020. One of the brightest applicants was the work Moscow architect Dmitry Fimushkin in the category "Individual residential house". The house in the cottage village "Knyazhye Ozero" in New Riga is distinguished by its original architecture. It is a striking example of modern constructivism, discreet and stylish. The fragile glass silhouette of the house in the powerful concrete "armor" surprises with its pronounced minimalism and strict colors.

The project used materials from Baumit: NanoporTop. Other Baumit products: Baumit Grund, Baumit MPA 35, Baumit ProContact, Baumit UniPrimer, Baumit StarTex

Then Vienna (Austria) became the capital of the ceremony. Spain won half of all the awards that year. Therefore, the final of the competition in 2016 took place in Madrid (Spain).

In 2018, Bratislava (Slovakia) hosted the winners and guests of the Baumit Life Challenge. And in 2020, the prestigious award will return to Spain again. The ceremony in Valencia promises to bring together over 500 guests and participants from 25 European countries.
