Acceptance of applications for the national stage of the annual international competition "Designing a Multi-Comfort Home-2017", organized by the ISOVER division of Saint-Gobain, started on October 1, 2016. This year, the official partners of the Russian stage are the Green Building Council, GRAPHISOFT, representing the ARCHICAD brand, and Bosch Thermotekhnika, representing the Buderus brand.

For 2 months of active work, as part of the first stage of the competition, seminars were held at universities and colleges for Russian students in more than 30 Russian cities, as well as a series of online trainings, which addressed the issues of effective thermal insulation, acoustics, energy efficiency, and the use of alternative sources energy and the latest equipment. The possibilities of BIM-design using the ARCHICAD software package are considered.

Also, the participants of the online trainings got acquainted with the tasks of expertise in the field of green building and the trends of modern sustainable architecture. Taking part in trainings, students had an exclusive opportunity to ask questions of interest to experts.

The International Organizing Committee traditionally looks for original tasks for the competition, which require a non-standard vision, the ability to solve complex practical problems and develop students' creative thinking skills. The task for the Design Multi-Comfort Home competition was developed by ISOVER in collaboration with the Department of Architecture of the Municipality of Madrid.

Participants in the competition must prepare a project for the restoration of the urban environment of the microdistrict, architecture that meets the requirements for environmental protection and harmoniously integrated into the urban space, along the borders of the Gran San Blas area in Madrid. At the same time, compliance with the MAD-RE1 criteria and the criteria of the “Saint-Gobain Multi-Comfort House” concept, taking into account the climatic and regional characteristics of the capital of Spain, are mandatory. Also, in addition to construction, it is necessary to take into account social and economic aspects, and the proposed solution should give impetus to the development of urban space.

From February 15 to March 15, 2017, an online semi-final will take place, following which the top 10 teams will compete for the championship in the national final (to be held in April 2017 in Moscow). For participation in the international final in Madrid, the best projects will be selected, which will represent Russia among more than 20 countries of the world. Participants in the national and international finals will receive monetary awards and special prizes from the partners of the competition, as well as invaluable experience of communicating with world-class professionals.
