The competition has been held by the Saint-Gobain concern since 2005 all over the world, and this year students from 21 countries took part in it. The national stage was organized by the Russian representative office of the company with the support of the Research Institute of Building Physics of the RAASN. The purpose of the competition is to promote ideas for energy efficient construction and attract talented young professionals to the construction sector.
The assignment, developed by an international expert council, was to develop projects for the expansion of the northern part of the Gluckstein Quartier, located in Mannheim, Germany, in accordance with the Saint-Gobain ISOVER comfort living principles. In their works, students of construction and architecture universities had to reflect the basic principles of erecting "multi-comfortable" buildings - reducing energy consumption, caring for the environment, increasing the level of safety, efficiency and durability of building structures, improving the overall level of living comfort.
The competition is held for the second time in Russia. This year, its geography has expanded significantly: more than one hundred students from the Volga region, Western and Eastern Siberia, the South of Russia, the Far East and the Central region took part in the competition.
In February and March 2013, regional stages of the competition were held in Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Samara, Irkutsk and Moscow, where the names of the participants in the national final were determined.
Alexander Remizov, Member of the Board of the Union of Architects of Russia (CAP), Chairman of the CAP Council for Sustainable Architecture, Chairman of the Board of NP "Promotion of Sustainable Development of Architecture and Construction - Council for Green Building", Head of the Remistudio architectural bureau, head of the competition jury for the second year in a row, noted: “I am pleased to state the interest of Russian students in the topic of energy efficient building design and the growth of professionalism of the competition participants. This is a very gratifying fact, since participation in the competition gives young architects an impetus for creative development. In turn, students' interest in the problem of energy efficient architecture can contribute to the development of this direction in the design of buildings, taking into account the "green" technologies."

First place
The winners of the Russian national stage of the competition "Designing the Saint-Gobain Multi-Comfort House - ISOVER" are: Alexey Khakimzyanov, Daria Lozhkina, Roman Perminov, Yekaterinburg (Ural Federal University). The team received a prize of 1,000 euros;
Second place
The second place was taken by: Elena Yunusova, Valeria Usatskaya, Yulia Kruteeva, Moscow (Moscow State University of Civil Engineering) and received a prize of 750 euros;
Third place
Alexander Lazanov, Daria Zakharova, Evgeny Savelyev, Samara (Samara State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering) took third place and received a prize of 500 euros.
The participants of these teams will represent Russia at the international stage of the competition, which will be held in May 2013 in Belgrade (Serbia).
