Guryevsk, formerly Neuhausen, is a green and quiet satellite of Kaliningrad with a population of just under 20 thousand people. The shopping center is planned to be built at the entrance to the city next to new residential areas and the central park.
Following the wishes of the customer, the architects chose eclecticism: the modern glass facade was opposed to the "branded" Hanseatic style for the region, the popularity of which is evidenced, for example, by the fact that it was used to transform the Khrushchev houses on Leninsky Prospekt in Kaliningrad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"Hanseatic houses" are made of gas silicate blocks that will be plastered or clad with clinker tiles. The color and decorative elements were selected according to prototypes: existing buildings in Gdansk and Polish Sopot. The choice of cities is explained by the fact that most of the region's population has already visited them as tourists, and perceives the local architecture nostalgically. Colored "houses" allow the shopping center to go far from the usual box shape for this typology, stretch the silhouette, and glass somewhat dissolves the scale of the building - at a height of 30 meters it will become one of the largest in Guryevsk.
And yet the main "feature" of the shopping center is, perhaps, the exploited roof, which they plan to abundantly plant and fill with recreational spaces. According to the architects, the rise in price will be achieved only due to hard and vegetable topcoats, small architectural forms and dwarf trees. At the same time, the attractiveness of the shopping center for visitors will increase significantly, so there is no doubt that the idea will be implemented.
The idea seemed to the customer logical and justifiable. Everything is very simple: the green roof in the city and the region has no analogues. People will come at least to take pictures. How to take a photo without coffee? On the way for coffee, you can look after a T-shirt / shorts / bag, well, after shopping, you need to eat, where without it. The exploited roof, thus, attracts the flow of people, which in turn will increase the liquidity of shopping and entertainment areas. For this shopping center, the roof is the "anchor".

There are also wow effects inside the building. The atrium skylight, for example, is made of triangular panels with opaque inserts that create a play of light and shadow. And the staircase to the roof has received the function of a multi-level space: on it you can sit down to rest, have a snack, watch the movement of the city or listen to live music.
