On December 18, at 16.00 in Gostiny Dvor, the author's lecture of the famous architect Andrey Chernikhov will take place on the experience of using zinc in historical and modern world architecture.

The audience will learn about the centuries-old history of zinc as a building metal and get acquainted with the numerous objects created by famous architects and implemented both in Russia and in many other countries of the world.

The International Architectural Charitable Foundation named after the Soviet architect, graphic artist and teacher Yakov Chernikhov (1889-1951), the first in the history of the USSR and Russia, was established in 1991 on the initiative of the MFMA (President - Marcos Bargilli, Cyprus; Secretary General - Georgy Stanishev, Bulgaria) and IAA (President - Georgy Stoilov, Bulgaria) with the support of the Union of Architects of the USSR (President - Yuri Platonov). Later, the Trustees of the Foundation included the German Museum of Architecture (Frankfurt am Main, Germany), the airline "Deutsche Lufthansa" (Germany), the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Michigan. National centers of the Foundation have been opened in Bulgaria, the USA and Russia.

The main direction of its activities, the Foundation identified support for experimental, educational and research work in the field of innovative architecture and urban planning, encouragement of innovative architectural concepts and initiatives of young architects of the world, the organization and conduct of architectural competitions and exhibitions of Yakov Chernikhov and the Russian architectural avant-garde, as well as support for children's architectural creativity in Russia.
