The architects present their construction as a realistic version of the "house of the future", which combines automation and integrated management of all systems, resource efficiency and functional flexibility.

The house is located on the outskirts of a village in the province of North Holland. On one side it faces the forest, the other - to the sea and the flat plain of the polder. Bedrooms and rooms for various activities are grouped near the forest facade, while the sea front has a living room, dining room and kitchen area. At the same time, flexible layouts allow hosts to “supervise their home life” by creating spaces for gathering or privacy, play or work, depending on the current needs.

The two main facades are glazed, which creates, among other things, see-through perspectives through the space of the house; the slightly concave outlines of these sides of the building and the terraces arranged there "let" the surrounding space inside. This impression is reinforced by the landscape design: gentle slopes rise to the level of the polder to the terraces. The side facades are almost deaf: they protect the owners from the views of their neighbors.

The center of the building is occupied by an open staircase that forms a centrifugal circulation system. The lower part of the building houses the garage, utility rooms and the main entrance. From there, a staircase leads to the nursery and music rooms on the forest side, and then to the living room and kitchen at the sea front. Above, there is the master bedroom, hammam and guest room (all overlooking the forest), and on the roof there is a large terrace.

The outer surfaces of the walls are partly brick, partly sheathed with wooden planks, which also cover the roof, where there was a place for solar panels. A heat pump and a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery are responsible for the comfort in the interior. The temperature in each room can be adjusted separately, but the main control panel of the "smart home" is the touchscreen in the living room. You can also control the situation using other devices connected to your home network.
