The competition was held from October 2014 to January 2015 as part of the educational program of the MARCH School "Naberezhnaya Leningradka". The students, under the guidance of the curator of the competition, architect Ilya Mukosey, conducted a survey of Dynamo Boulevard and identified problem areas there. The boulevard was considered in a complex with an adjacent square, a park and stadium "Dynamo", as well as Petrovsky Park. Then the participants had to develop concrete solutions to the problems found. At the end of January, student projects were defended, seven of which were sent to the jury. The organizers also held an on-line popular vote. ***

Ksenia Zvereva
The concept is based on the sonic diversity of the territory. Using a mobile application to measure the noise level, Ksenia identified the places most susceptible to noise pollution. In particular, a strong background noise was found in front of a dwelling-plate, the façade of which reflects sound. According to the conclusions of the author of the project, the reason for the noise pollution of the boulevard is the absence of a “middle belt of landscaping”. Shrubs and short trees should absorb noise near the ground. Strengthening this belt became the key idea of the project. However, according to the architect, there is no need to get rid of the noise completely, because it forms a unique “sound portrait” of the territory. Therefore, in some areas, it is proposed to preserve the city noise by supplementing it with decorative sound sources, for example, fountains. Thus, a kind of "walking sound route" is being formed on the boulevard. Continuing the idea of sonic diversity, Ksenia proposed to place a yoga center under the overpass of a traffic intersection, which opposes the noisy crowded stadium and at the same time supports the theme of sports characteristic of this place.
*** Second place
Anastasia Rozhkova
The project is focused on the improvement and comfortable use of the boulevard despite the proximity to the construction site and the noisy highway. Anastasia proposes to create a covered alley, the vertical landscaping of which will allow to isolate oneself from the external environment. The bar counter of the transit cafe is located right along the pedestrian path. Opposite her, the author places a slate board where anyone can leave a note. Sunday markets and fairs can be held here, just like on the boulevards of European cities.
*** Third place
Daria Gerasimova
Daria Gerasimova's focus is on the accessibility of the boulevard and square for people with disabilities. In order to make the territory "passable", it is proposed to replace part of the stairs with zigzag ramps. In addition, according to the author, Dynamo lacks cycling infrastructure. In the competition project for the Park of Physical Culture and Sports, the Praktika bureau proposes the creation of a cycling ring, encircling the park and the stadium. Daria considers it necessary to expand the ring to the borders of Petrovsky Park, and raise the cycle track in the square above ground level so as not to restrict the movement of pedestrians and fans on match days. In the center of the square there is a bike station where you can rent a bike and a small cafe. The station's circular ramp allows you to go up to the level of the bike path.
Finalists of the competition
Anton Timofeev
The author devoted his research to the transport situation on the highways adjacent to the boulevard. His conclusion: in the near future, a significant part of the local population will be forced to abandon private cars in favor of public transport, and the need for multi-level transport interchanges in the city will disappear. Overpasses are being transformed into linear parks, like New York's High Line. Anton proposes to prepare citizens for these changes today. The three-phase scenario, developed by the author, is called "Crutch - path - capture". The idea is to add a walkway ("crutch") to the flyover for pedestrians and cyclists. And over time, they will be able to capture the roadway. The area under the flyover is proposed to be used as an exhibition space.
*** Andrey Fomichev
According to Andrey Fomichev's research, the most vulnerable to the negative impact of the highway is the area between the pavilions of the Dynamo metro station, as well as the section of the boulevard not covered by an overpass. The author also drew attention to the disorderly arrangement of stops and stalls along Leningradsky Prospekt. As the main idea, Andrey proposed to introduce a modular transformer structure on the sidewalk along Leningradka. Among the components of this structure are "green modules" (bushes in tubs), stop modules, cafe modules and others. The design can be constantly changed and adapted for specific tasks. By rearranging mobile benches and tubs in the square, it can be used, for example, as a concert venue, a place for walking, an ice rink.
*** Oleg Sazonov
The author of the project notes the important role of the square as a link between the two parks (Petrovsky and Dynamo). However, the square is not well-maintained, and, according to the survey, there is little attendance. Oleg decided to increase the popularity of this place and attract fans of extreme sports here. As the basis of the composition, a ramp was used, which, in addition to the main sports function, also performs others (there are stadium ticket offices, a stage for street events, a cafe, a store). As a result, we see a picturesque suite of spaces with various functional purposes, isolated from the highway. It is easy to get through it from one park to another. Another solution proposed by the author is the creation of a terminal for land transport, where all the stopping pavilions available on the site will be collected.
*** Daria Zaitseva
This concept was inspired by the diverse architecture of the area. Here you can find all Russian architectural styles of the 20th century, as well as the Travel Palace, built in 1780 according to the project of M. F. Kazakov. Daria suggested creating a collective image of the district's architecture in the form of a phantom tower, which can be installed at the intersection of Leningradsky Prospekt and the Third Transport Ring. Such towers, according to Daria's idea, if placed at the intersection of the Third Transport Ring with the 13 main radial highways of Moscow, could become the basis for a new city navigation system. Technically speaking, the tower is a 120-meter-high metal spire that emits steam onto which an image is projected. Separately, the layout of the tower prepared by Daria was noted. It consists of a steam generator and a pocket projector and is a projection of the tower image onto a steam column.
