The new hotel PURO, designed by the architects of the Polish bureau ASW Architekci Ankiersztajn Stankiewicz Wroński, was built in the Old Town of Poznan in the former Jewish Quarter. On the site between three narrow streets, not far from the former Great Synagogue, built at the beginning of the 20th century, the hotel building compositionally completes this part of the Old Town. The object is one of the few examples of modern architecture in the historical center of Poznan, and during the design the architects were faced with the difficult task of harmoniously connecting the past and the present, which they successfully solved.
The appearance of a building is defined by its surroundings. Situated at the crossroads of the streets, the hotel completes the line of historic houses, but at the same time looks completely modern. Its two facades, finished with fiber cement panels
EQUITONE [natura] continues the rhythm and traditional shape of the neighboring buildings. Large metal and wood-framed windows add a touch of character to the hotel. The third facade, finished with brown ceramic tiles and modern design, is made in the corporate style of the PURO hotel chain.
The hotel offers its guests 137 comfortable rooms located on the upper floors. Large windows provide guests with plenty of natural light, panoramic views of Poznan and a visual connection with neighboring streets and buildings.
The reception, located opposite the main entrance, has become a kind of nucleus that controls and unites the work of all hotel services. The main places for communication are the lobby, restaurant and conference rooms on the ground floor, where guests can chat, work or relax. The hotel's spacious lobby with sofas, armchairs and bookshelves gives guests the feeling of a comfortable living room.
