We have already reported that Archstoyanie will be held this summer under the theme “Shelter”. Below is how some of the festival participants decided to interpret the theme, and what new objects will appear on its site in the summer.
Head "Home of the Homeless"
The author of the "Home of the Homeless" project is the artist Pavel Suslov. The project arose as a result of numerous trips to the open air, where large-format paintings have to be painted in the field. The idea arose to assemble a structure from canvases, which would become both a storage for the canvases and a temporary dwelling for the "bum" who creates them. Such a playful name was given to the project by the artist's friends. At first it was a cube of 9 canvases, then the shapes gradually became more complicated. The artist worked like this not only in nature, but also within the framework of city festivals. At the end of the work, the object was exhibited in its entirety or in disassembled form.
"Head", which will appear at "Archstoyanie" - this is the fifteenth version of the design, consisting of 254 canvases. The sketches will be created during the summer, and upon completion of work on all the canvases, the object will be dismantled.
Comet
The installation, which the FORM architectural bureau will present at the festival, is a cosmic body, as if falling to the ground out of nowhere and discovered by a random traveler. Like all the unknown, the "meteorite" is both attractive and frightening. I would like to come up with an explanation for this phenomenon, to understand the history of the origin of a foreign body. Thus, the object literally engulfs passers-by. After all, the refuge does not have to have a physical embodiment. This installation is a shelter for the soul.
Inhabited sculpture for humans
This art object will be presented by Dmitry and Elena Kavarga. The underlying idea is the interpenetration of sculpture and architecture. Inside the sculpture, you can lie, sit, spend quite a long time, feeling like a living being inside the same living being. Thus, one can experience a state of weightlessness, detachment from everything earthly and social. Arks for birds and stray dogs were the forerunners of Habitable Sculpture for People.
