The highest quality of EKVITON facade panels allows us to implement the most complex and original architectural solutions. Strong and environmentally friendly, durable and frost-resistant modern building material made of fiber cement on the facades of a private house in Trondheim in central Norway.
Trondheim is a calm and cozy city, although it is the third largest city in the country in terms of population. It is located at the mouth of the Nidelva River, which flows into the picturesque Trondheims Fjord.
In the residential area of Havstein, JVA architects have designed a compact single-family apartment building with panoramic views of the fjord and the city.
Surrounded by private buildings of varying density and style, the house stands out for its unusual - laconic and abstract - architecture.
The strictly regulated minimum distance from the building to the road running along the edge of the section dictated the appearance of a significant shift in the geometry of the facade. Another limitation that also influenced the shape was the preservation of view for the neighbors living up the hill.
These two factors - the road and the neighbors - gave the "Polite House" its characteristic appearance and thus determined its name.
The house, erected on a narrow plot of land, has the ability to develop only vertically. But the vertical shape helps create a great view from the living room to the north, and the high-rise terrace creates a comfortable space open to the south.
The shift in the upper level of the house suggests an unusual interior arrangement. Sloping walls and narrow spaces make it difficult to locate the required set of rooms in a very compact volume. The architects create a really interesting layout, communicating clear functions to all rooms and combining the play area with the hall, the study with the guest bedroom, and the living room with the kitchen.
Birch plywood ceilings and walls, as well as light self-leveling floors, add a warm and cozy touch to the interior of the house.
In general, the house, with its laconicism inside and out, resembles a large vase, faced with snow-white fiber-cement facade panels EQUITONE [tectiva].
