The results of the next competition of fantastic skyscraper designs, which the eVolo magazine has been holding for the 12th time, have been summed up. This year, the winners were chosen from among 444 participants. The organizers did not limit the imagination of the contestants in any way. The main task was to answer the question: how should a skyscraper of the XXI century look like?

At the first place - Mashambas skyscraper. The authors of the project are Pavel Lipinskiy and Mateusz Frankovskiy from Poland. The modular and scalable building is conceived as an educational hub and marketplace for new agricultural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. The project aims to eradicate hunger in the region by expanding agricultural opportunities.

Second place took over a project called "Vertical factories for megacities" from a team from the United States - Tianshu Liu and Lingsheng Xie. The idea is to enable factories to return to the city again. The proposed skyscraper is multi-layered. The industrial layers in it alternate with the recreational ones. And for the needs of the latter, factory resources are used.

Spiral 3500 project - on the third place … Its author is Javier Lopez-Menchero Ortiz de Salazar from Spain. The main emphasis in this concept is placed on the relationship between private and public spaces in a skyscraper. Since the number of modern large cities is constantly growing, it is necessary to provide residents of high-rise buildings with all the necessary infrastructure, while not depriving them of the possibility of privacy in their own home.
