The concept of WhiteLines - a typology of a single complex that is not often found on our market yet, which includes almost all functions necessary for a person, from housing to a cinema - was proposed by the customer to Dmitry Vasiliev and Alexander Popov. The architects took it with enthusiasm: the idea of a quarter, the inhabitants of which are provided with everything they need directly at their place of residence, fully corresponds to the ideology of a comfortable environment, which has long become the creative credo of Archimatika. “When in your house you can go down to the supermarket for bread in slippers, go to watch a movie in a dressing gown in the evening, go swimming in the pool in the morning - this is a very adequate concept for our climatic zone,” says Dmitry Vasiliev, co-founder of the bureau.

The site on which the construction of the complex is supposed to be located in the southern part of Kiev, at the fork in Goloseevsky Prospect and Vasilkovskaya Street. Bounded from the west by Uzhgorodsky lane, it has an almost regular triangular shape, but since the building of the National Center named after Oleksandr Dovzhenko stands across the sharp corner, the building area itself turns into a trapezoid. The location in the background from the prospect's point of view, by the way, posed a difficult task to the authors of the project: how to make sure that the three 24-storey towers, "looking out" from behind the squat parallelepiped of the Dovzhenko Center, do not look chaotically planted scattered volumes? An original solution was found, but more on that below, but for now one cannot fail to mention the advantages of the territory, the main one of which is the immediate vicinity of the beautiful Goloseevsky Park, also known as the Maxim Rylsky Park, a monument of gardening art with lakes, alleys and playgrounds. passing further into a forest almost untouched by civilization. In addition, in the immediate vicinity of the site there is an exit from the Goloseevskaya metro station.

Three high-rise residential towers stand on a two-storey stylobate, at the corners of the site, in the most advantageous points in terms of view characteristics. All sports and entertainment functions are concentrated in the stylobate part, and its roof is used as a private landscaped courtyard space reserved for the needs of the residents of the complex. As for the shopping gallery on the first floor, it was decided to expand it outside, facing the city. “Now there is a dead zone,” explains Dmitry Vasiliev. - People walking along the avenue from the metro to their houses pass along a blank concrete fence - wasted time, wasted space. We want to make a live street with shops, pharmacies, cafes - everything that may be needed by the residents of not only our complex, but the entire district."

How do you put together three high-rise buildings if their base is not visible from strategically important vantage points? It was clear that just a uniform design of the facades was not enough - some bright technique was needed. After a long search, the idea of the horizontal as a plastic leitmotif was born, a red - more precisely, white - thread running through all the volumes of the complex. It looks as if a white thread is really wound around the glass towers all over the place - and it is not wound too carefully, somewhere it is thicker, somewhere thinner, somewhere it breaks off completely and after a break it starts again; It captures, of course, the stylobate, and the building of the Dovzhenko Center at the same time - you certainly will not doubt that this entire complex is a single and, it seems, quite a living organism. The white "thread" also has a practical meaning - behind it are hidden drawers for air conditioners, so the form is motivated. The image turned out to be so vivid that now, the other day, the complex, which previously bore the marketing name Smart Plaza Holoseevo,

renamed WhiteLines - white lines.

Yes, a certain hint of organic matter can be traced in a not very regular shape, like mushrooms on the edge of a forest of growing volumes, especially since, starting from a certain height, the architects propose to change strictly rectangular plans to parallelograms with rounded sharp corners, taking the shape of a wave along one of the walls. This feeling is also facilitated by the nonlinear outlines of the roofs of the shopping gallery, which are also somewhat reminiscent of mushrooms, only woody ones growing on old trunks.

Most of the living quarters in WhiteLines are intended for families with children - here they can not only go out for a walk in Goloseevsky Park, but also sunbathe in their own solarium or play basketball on the roof of the stylobate. It was with this target audience in mind that the authors of the project made the layouts of apartments, among which there are two-tier ones. Traditionally, “Archimatika” approaches the layouts creatively and with special attention, considering that every meter of such expensive housing should be used rationally and comfortably - 99%

apartments are designed according to the PRO method - this is how the architects call the layouts developed by a thorough analysis of parameters for the most efficient use of each square meter and the convenience of residents.

The project was shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival in the category of multifunctional commercial real estate. The start of construction is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2018.
