In January, GOOD WOOD completed work on the construction of a courtyard for the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia at the Church of the Royal Passion-Bearers in Yasenevo. The one-storey building with an area of 184 m² will open its doors to parishioners in early spring.
The building was erected from engineering timber, glued beams with a section of 200 x 185 mm manufactured by GOOD WOOD. This size is the standard for company houses suitable for permanent residence in central Russia. The choice of the material was due to the temporality of the structure, which, according to the plans of the Customers, will last about 10 years, after which it will be disassembled and transferred to another place, and a temple of stone will be erected in its place (the project is under development).
Until February 19, 2018, work will be carried out in the building to paint the interior space, erect internal frame partitions, lining the ceiling and under-roof space. The opening of the courtyard is scheduled for the beginning of Lent.
“The interior space is divided into two large rooms. One of them opens up, smoothly flowing into the tower space. Penetrating through the skylights, located in the form of a cross (on the four sides of the roof), light penetrates the hall, filling it with the breath of the sky, - this is how the architect Maxim Malygin describes his project. - A feature of the facility's design was the requirement of the Customers to create a bright open high space (8 meters) without supporting pillars, which, of course, we implemented. I am proud that I was able to work on such an object. I hope that the parishioners will appreciate the atmosphere created by modern wood.”
