Renga Software announces a new release BIM systems Renga Architecture and Renga Structure… Designers and architects now have new options for working with columns and beams, shipping marks, windows, and BOMs. And the developers IT solutions will be able to write applications for Renga using different programming languages.
With each release, Renga, a Russian architectural and civil engineering system that supports information modeling (BIM) technology, gains new opportunities, helping architects and designers to solve an increasing number of problems. In the last release, the "Specifications" tool appeared, ladders of various shapes and the integration of Renga with virtual reality glasses were added. One of the main novelties of the new release is the Column and Beam Profile Editor. Thanks to the profile editor, designers can create a round or square pipe, TT-beam, gusset, etc. in the system. (Picture 1)
The architects now have the opportunity to create facade cornices, capitals, fluted columns, etc. in the program. (Figure 2)
In previous releases of the system, users were limited in creating free-form profiles for columns and beams. Now you can create any sections and, in addition, make them parametric, which allows you to get different standard sizes from one profile shape.
Another innovation Renga Architecture and Renga Structure – assembly tool … An assembly is a three-dimensional model of an object that consists of several parts. The tool will help you create any composite 3D object and add it to the 3D building model. At the same time, changes or adjustments made to the precast element are automatically displayed in the information model. This tool is universal and will be useful for both architects and designers. An architect will find this tool useful, for example, when working with elevator shafts, as well as when solving other problems (Figure 3).
Need a trapezoidal truss in your project? Or maybe segmented, polygonal, triangular or with parallel belts? The designer will be able to create an assembly unit from several parts in the form of a shipping mark, display it on a drawing or add it to a three-dimensional model of a building (Figure 4).
In addition to the design of steel structures, the assembly can be used to reinforce connections and complex elements with separate reinforcing bars (Figure 5). In this case, they will belong to the entire object and be part of it.
New items have affected and window tool … The Renga team has significantly expanded the user experience when working with window fill. Now in Renga Architecture you can set the material of the window structure, control the geometric parameters of the frame, horizontal and vertical imposts. In addition, it became possible to add opening sashes to the window design and create windows with a side bottom or side top suspension, a sliding horizontal or vertical sash. Now the architect can design windows with any type of opening (Figure 6 and Figure 7).
And so that users do not have to manually add the designed windows to the list of window openings, we have improved the tool "Specification". Now the tool allows you to combine identical elements and group data in accordance with the requirements of GOST and SPDS. And the "Filter" function will help you filter out all the necessary or unnecessary values. Having created a filter template once, an architect or designer can apply it not only in specifications, but also use it to work with a 3D model. The updated functionality allows you to receive group specifications in forms 7, 8 of GOST 21.501-2011 (Specification of filling window and door openings, specification of lintel elements, specifications of structural elements, etc.) (Figure 8 and Figure 9).
In the new release of the system, the algorithm for joining walls made of multilayer materials has been improved. Now in Renga Architecture and Renga Structure, the base layer will always cut other wall layers and reach the base layer of the mated structure, and when mating the same materials, the boundaries between the layers will not be displayed. This feature allows the designer to obtain the correct volumes of wall materials (Figure 10).
Designers will be delighted to know that Renga Structure has added a function for automatically attaching door and window fittings to the wall. The program itself will display the reinforcement of window and door openings when the wall reinforcement cage is displayed on the drawing, which will reduce the designer's time and speed up the process of obtaining the drawing (Figure 11).
In the winter release, the Renga API was also changed. The creators of the system switched to a new technology for developing software components - COMAPI. Now our technology partners can write RengaCOM-compatible applications in the Microsoft Windows environment. Previously, Renga only supported compatibility with plugins written in C ++. The ability to create applications in other programming languages, for example, in the popular C #, will accelerate the pace of development of the system.
If you want to try these and other novelties in action, download trial version of Renga and run your project. And, if you are already our user, just install system updates. You can also get acquainted with the new functionality on our webinars or BIM marathons, which will be held this spring in 10 cities of Russia.
