The complex for 161 apartments was built in the Marseille Kashen quarter, which is undergoing a complete reconstruction in the 2010s. Unlike housing in the 1960s, which often saw little permeable boundaries in the city, the Brenac & Gonzalez project is a variant of an "open quarter", where the large form, on the contrary, is fragmented, and the buildings "frame" spectacular perspective views for both the complex itself and for pedestrians and residents of neighboring houses. In addition, such a layout protects the apartments from the views of neighbors. A well-thought-out apartment design made it possible to open many apartments not even with two, but with three facades.
The balconies of the street facades are closed with metal blinds, which, among other things, are designed to hide the household belongings that residents can store there, and to preserve the "visual quality when viewed from a public space" intact. Apartments of various types open into the green courtyard, including townhouses with their own gardens, apartments in a building with terraced steps, or with access to the roof with trees and space for relaxation (it was created there by the efficient arrangement of engineering equipment). But the most interesting are the wood-paneled balconies on the facades and "tree houses", terraces on the second floor level, where private bridges lead from the apartments. They give a lively look to the entire complex.
