The Xifeng Pedestrian Bridge and the public space around it were designed by Shenzhen's PT Architecture Design and PT Landscape bureaus. Located on the shore of the bay, the bridge resembles an abstract sculpture. However, this project is closely related to traditional Chinese culture. Actually, the bridge, three-part in the plan, is a flying phoenix, bringing peace and prosperity, and also symbolizing the empress (while the dragon stood for the emperor).
Red is the color of energy, vitality, fire and strength. The mosaic pillars of the bridge have received the shape of a specific type of "auspicious cloud", among other things - a common decor motif, but more streamlined than in the original. The cloud chosen for the bridge denotes harmonious unity and coexistence.
Perforated metal panels are combined in the project with natural wood, dark and light gray granite paving, landscaping.
