The Lumini University campus in the eponymous district of Marseille is currently undergoing a major renovation. An important part of it was the reconstruction of its central building, the student canteen, built in 1966 according to the project of Rene Egge. For the last fifteen years, the building has been abandoned, the facades were in a particularly poor condition: they had to be completely replaced. But the architect Remi Marciano preserved the concrete structure, and did not hide the traces of time: he calls this approach "modern archeology".

The new facades with white “louvers” emphasize the hexagonal shape of the building that gave it its original name - Hexagone. The geometric volume is visible from afar against the backdrop of a wild landscape: the Kalanki National Park is located nearby.

The building now has a central atrium with tribune steps, a place for students to socialize and study. Glazed facades - external and courtyard - provide the interior with sunlight.
On a total area of almost 8,000 m2, there is a library, a cinema, a cafe-bar, a center for the study of foreign languages, a student life bureau, a career guidance service, an international relations department, etc.
