The Congress Palace and the casino are located on the square, also reconstructed according to the A + Architecture project, at the entrance to the Cap d'Agde resort area from the side of the historic center of Agde, within which it is located. An esplanade leading to the sea begins from the square.
Thus, the two buildings became the new gates of the seaside complex, which had been built since 1970 by the architect Jean Le Couter: it was one of the largest state projects in France, part of the Racine Plan to create resort infrastructure on the seaside of the Languedoc-Roussillon region (ibid. included, among others, and
La Grande Motte).
The two rounded buildings, the congress center and the casino, are connected by a series of bridges allowing easy access to any of the floors. White dominates the project, creating a resort mood (as well as reducing the heating of the sun): the only exception is turquoise, like the waves of the Mediterranean Sea, spectator seats in the hall for 1200 people. In addition to this hall, the congress center has an exhibition gallery, meeting rooms, a lobby and administrative premises. At the very top is a panoramic belvedere floor in the form of
bivalve mollusc shell.
The facades of concrete buildings are covered with panels with ornamental carvings according to drawings by the artist Herve Di Rosa: in his characteristic mischievous manner, various inhabitants of the seabed are depicted there, as well as the symbol of the city - "Efeb of Agda": found here, at the bottom of the Ero River, in 1964 and antique bronze statue kept in a special museum.
