The competition, named after the first architect of St. Petersburg, Domenico Trezzini, has been held since 2018. Its purpose is to mark architectural, design and restoration projects, the artistic value of which allows them to be ranked as works of art. The works of the winners of the "Golden Trezzini" replenish the collection of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg.
This year, 350 applications were received for the award from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Finland and other countries - and it does not yet have international status. Next year, the review competition will be held with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and it is expected that the geography will become even wider.
The works of the contestants were evaluated by an international jury, which included more than 70 experts. In the main nominations, 18 projects were awarded, in special nominations - 17 more. Auditors were even invited to check the voting results.
