While St. Petersburg is waiting for the appearance of a glass cube from Rem Koolhaas - the deadline for the completion of the library has been postponed to 2023-2024 - the first two stages of the Hermitage's storage facilities are becoming more and more complete. In the future, the square in front of the entrance to the restoration and storage center should turn into a full-fledged public space. The company "Slavdom" takes part in its creation: the largest distributor of building materials supplies paving stones and paving slabs of the trademark for the restoration and storage center of the country's main museum
"Choice".
The project of the square, like the first buildings of the complex, was developed by
architectural workshop of the Trofimovs. According to the concept, it will become part of a single pedestrian zone, originating from the Staraya Derevnya metro station, and will combine various elements: regular and relief gardens, a pond with a decorative waterfall, a sculpture garden and a zone of ancient symbols that will overlap with the petroglyphs on the golden portal. The "casket" of the storage.
By the present moment, the space in front of the entrance group and the area in front of the "golden" building are covered with paving stones. Used paving stones of the "Premium" category of black and white colors, several textures.
With the help of rectangular paving slabs from the La Line collection, a colorful, but at the same time, austere pattern was created in front of the entrance group. Marble and other stone chips of various colors and shades have been added to the textured layer.
For the square in front of the "golden" building, tiles of a larger format from the line
Antara. Available sizes - from 20x30 to 30x50 cm - greatly facilitate the installation process. "Antara" imitates shades, veins and natural color transitions of natural stone, therefore each tile has its own unique pattern. It is worth noting that tiles from different rulers go well with each other. Here, for example, "Antara" contrastingly complements the line "Old City", which differs in texture and form.
The circular layout was made of paving stones from the Antik collection, the textured layer of which is made on the basis of natural granite chips. Granite provides increased adhesion, high strength and almost zero abrasion. After rinsing with high pressure water, the face of the tile is exposed, revealing the natural beauty of natural stone. In bright sunlight, the processed edges of the granite chips begin to shine noticeably. Another advantage: paving stones from the Antique collection allow you to achieve an almost seamless surface.
The Vybor company uses German equipment and technology of semi-dry vibrocompression. Thanks to high-quality fillers and special processing, the physical and technical characteristics of the material are as high as aesthetic: the paving stones repel dirt and water, are not afraid of frost, are durable and environmentally friendly.
