Sliding patios, balcony and garden doors, as well as panoramic glazing of verandas and terraces are very popular among users.

They are available in two sliding systems: HST and PSK. Using this solution gives much more possibilities, both practical and layout.

The biggest advantage of sliding systems is that they allow the use of large glazing of the veranda, the price of which remains affordable for many, and therefore contributes to good lighting of the room. In addition, the advantage of the terrace sliding door system is that the open leaves of these doors do not take up space inside the rooms.

Sliding patio doors - important information

In recent years, patio sliding door systems have replaced traditional swing doors, balcony and terrace windows. Sliding doors to a balcony, terrace or veranda are produced in two systems:

  • lifting and sliding HST,
  • tilt-and-slide PSK.

Terrace, balcony doors and sliding windows are made of different materials. You can find plastic, aluminum, wood and wood-aluminum sliding products. In particular, wood and aluminum terrace doors have very good properties and reviews because they combine the advantages of wood and aluminum windows.

The advantages of such solutions

Windows and sliding doors to the terrace, balcony and garden are characterized by very good insulation parameters in terms of heat and noise. These systems use frames and sashes of different depths, as well as glazing packages. HST and PSK sliding doors and windows are an excellent solution for living rooms, living rooms, work well both in private houses and in apartments. This solution is very practical, functional and offers many possibilities for placement.

Doors and windows to the terrace, balcony and garden in sliding systems allow the use of even very large glazing and, therefore, very good lighting of the room. They also allow you to visually connect the space inside the house with a terrace or veranda. In addition, the PSK and HST terrace sliding systems mean that the open sashes of such windows and doors do not take up space inside the premises. This gives great opportunities for organizing space in these rooms compared to traditional rotary systems.

HST lift-and-slide patio windows

One of the types of sliding doors to the terrace is the HST system. These products are distinguished by their great usability. HST sliding balcony windows have a sliding and fixed sash. These canvases are parallel to each other and offset from the axes. HST patio doors are opened by moving the movable sash behind the fixed sash. The movable sash moves smoothly on rollers along a guide hidden in the floor. HST sliding balcony windows are opened by stopping the sliding sash anywhere and lowering it by the handle.

HST decking systems can have a maximum width of 6500 mm and a height of 2700 mm. Their area can be up to 14 m, which makes them suitable for very large glazing. They can also be used for glazing corners. HST terrace sliding doors have a low threshold of up to 3 mm and can be installed flush with the floor.

Tilt-sliding windows PSK

Tilt-sliding doors PSK are systems for terraces, patios, balconies and gardens. Like HST windows, PSK windows do not take up space in rooms when they are opened. Tilt-sliding doors in the closed position (or rather their sashes: fixed sash and sliding sash) form a straight line. The door frame of the UCS has a visible guide along which the trolleys move, fixed on the inner frame of the sliding sash. They are hidden under special covers. PSK doors and windows are opened by tilting and moving the movable sash away from the threshold, and then moving the sash along the guide at the bottom of the frame. The PSK system ensures smooth and quiet sliding even in the case of very heavy and large terrace windows.

PSK tilt-and-slide windows can have both low and high thresholds. PSK doors can be up to 160 cm wide, which allows you to create a passage with a clearance of up to 150 cm. The entire PSK single window system can be more than 3 m wide and its area is up to 8 m. This window system is more popular than the HST system in mainly due to the lower price.
