The museum is located a little further from the hotel complex: so that you can appreciate from all sides its streamlined triangular shape, covered with dark profiled aluminum sheets. The upper floor is smaller than the others and adjoins a spacious roof terrace. The lower level, recessed into the relief, is also more compact, and also glazed. This gives the main volume a feeling of weightlessness, as if it is lightly touching the ground.
From the first to the fourth floor, the museum is vertically divided into three zones. From the north, along the base of the triangle, there are technical and circulation spaces, in the center are exhibition halls, a library, a lobby and administrative premises.
Adjacent to the apex of the triangle is the main in meaning and expressiveness part of the museum - a white atrium filled with sunlight. Climbing up its gentle ramps, one can get no less impressions than at the exhibition: the architects built this space and the entire project on the opposition of compression and release. This effect occurs both in the interior and at the entrance to the museum - after a compact dark volume, the visitor finds himself in a light and spacious room, as if much larger than the look from the outside promised.
