The building will be part of a new complex of cultural and leisure facilities in the Spier Estate.
It consists of three main parts: a huge awning, as it were, hovering over the museum, the building itself of several multi-colored volumes with streamlined outlines and a stone basement supporting the entire structure. The complex will also include a large area for exhibitions and outdoor concerts.
The project incorporates architectural elements from various African cultures, thus highlighting their diversity. Separate exhibition pavilions represent local tribes and their building traditions with their shape, material and color. This composition creates a unique appearance of the building and underlines its status as an important cultural institution for the entire continent.
The project cost is 160 million euros.
