Thus, Chumi presented his native Switzerland at an international exhibition. His work fits well with the theme of this year's Biennale: “Cities, Architecture and Society”. The architect considers in his project the problems of modern urban planning, in particular, a new city that is emerging practically from the void. The full title of his work is "The Oval City: The Independent Financial Center of the Americas." In his solution, the buildings of various financial institutions merge with the natural environment. Among the buildings scattered among the greenery are a business center, a hotel, a club and a shopping district. The project is designed for 12,000 inhabitants, but can be expanded to 30,000 people.
The exposition consists of a large layout, various images of the new city and video projections.
Despite the fact that the choice of the project for the exhibition caused surprise among the traditionally minded architectural circles of Switzerland, curator Andreas Münck said that the exposition is very popular among the visitors of the Biennale.
