The Yantarny Gorod microdistrict is located in the floodplain of the Moskva River, in an amazingly beautiful place that has been inhabited by elite apartment towers for ten years. This type of expensive houses is undoubtedly the most popular in Moscow and its format must be recognized as established and established in the eyes of both architects and residents. Such houses in the edition of the nineties are a kind of dungeon of the XXI century, well guarded and confidently dominating the area, and for greater resemblance, they are surrounded by a moat and a fence and decorated with turrets, reminiscent of a decorative version of fortress turrets, incapable of fighting for some reason. However, in recent years, there have been tangible changes among residential skyscrapers. First of all, they are increasingly being designed by good architects, which is why houses began to acquire the gloss and splendor of a decent society - interesting facades, original forms. No less changes are taking place inside: new structural solutions are emerging that provide developers with additional meters for sale and residents with new comfort.

Buildings 4-1 and 4-2 of "Amber City" designed by Dmitry Alexandrov can boast of similar structural inventions. Each thirty-storey building has a courtyard - an atrium. The format, usual for expensive and low-rise buildings under construction in the city center, is unacceptable for a skyscraper, because the atrium above 14 meters is prohibited for the sake of fire safety, says Dmitry Alexandrov, so a new constructive solution was invented: the courtyard is divided into vertical blocks of four floors. Each such block contains from 8 to 12 apartments; a garden, fountains and a sloping panoramic window of a four-storey height are planned in the atriums. Perhaps each courtyard will have its own interior design.

In fact, Dmitry Aleksandrov managed to reconcile two types of elite houses - relatively small ones that are found in the historical center and suburban skyscrapers, combining their advantages. Because outside - space, river, beauty, and inside - a cozy and humane "vertical city", with houses, or rather courtyards, standing one above the other. Such a courtyard, in general, is very necessary for a person, because it creates the illusion of life in a relatively small community of neighbors, and provides a comfortable scale, not overwhelming in its size and thirty-story growth, as outside, but proportionate. So it turns out that the tenant of such a skyscraper from the outside, as well as from his window, enjoys magnificent natural landscapes, which are not and cannot be in the town center, and when going inside, he plunges into the cozy scale of a small city. The only thing missing is a helicopter, so that the office in the center is just a stone's throw away …

Curiously, this issue has been resolved as far as it is possible now. There will be a real helipad on the roof. For fire-fighting helicopters, of course - after all, private traders cannot fly over Moscow.

The unusual arrangement of the internal space entailed a number of new engineering techniques that required special approvals from the Ministry of Emergencies. For example, due to the fact that the courtyard became an additional stiffening rib of the building, it was possible to save on the thickness of the interfloor floors, bringing them up to 18 centimeters. Ultimately, the result turned out to be worthy - the project received a diploma at Zodchestvo in 2004, in 2005 - it was recognized as the most successful architectural solution in the competition with the self-explanatory title "The best solution for successful development" held by the M2 publication, gaining 7.3 points out of 9 possible. The solution turned out to be really successful for developers - apartments, which were going to sell at 2,000 per square meter, are sold at 5,000.

The monolithic structures of the house have now been brought up to the 18th floor, a little more than half the height, and the cellular filling is clearly visible from the outside: thin layers of apartments and giant mouths of future courtyards, a new version of an elite "tower".
