The site has two features - ideological and structural.
It's raining on its first page, rustling to the music. Below, something splashes indefinitely, the wall of drops becomes now less frequent, now more often. From time to time, as from a roof peak, if you look at the rain from under the awning, large drops fall off, splashing and with painted splashes fall into the water. Then between the logo and the water, drawings and sketches of projects appear and disappear. Is it worth explaining a picture, the task of which, by definition, is to create a mood, that is, to entertain the user? It has no practical purpose, although if you look at the screen for a while, you can see drawings from different years, so if you wish, you can consider it as a section "pre-design graphics" combined with the first page of the site. But the meaning, of course, is not here, it is not functionally substantiated. But it is explained in a symbolic way - as one of the metaphors of creativity, when plans-drawings first arise from nothingness, then at home. The meditative attitude of the first page is replaced by a more definite one in the sections where we no longer look at the process, but at the results of creativity, and thus, walking around the site, we emerge from the created atmosphere, then we plunge into it again to move on.
The structural feature comes from the history of Sergei Skuratov's workshop, which, having appeared in 2002, declared itself as two very notable buildings - houses standing close to each other in Butikovsky Lane: one is called Butikovsky 5, the second is Cooper house. For such iconic projects - a special section of the site, "favorites", which will be gradually replenished. It ranks first in the portfolio list and is the most spectacular solution: half of the screen is taken up by photographs, making the site look like a magazine publication. Everyone is used to seeing Cooper house on covers and spreads - here this impression persists. The photos, however, can be viewed all, and in full - they move slowly, moreover, they can be moved with the mouse.
The next subsection of the portfolio brings together all the projects of the workshop, arranged in chronology, including those that are already in the "favorites", and those that, being built, are going to get there. This is the first part of the portfolio; its second half contains a "personal archive" - projects and buildings by Sergei Skuratov, made while working in the workshop "Sergei Kiselev and Partners" and earlier. There are also many famous things here: a complex on Seleznevskaya, a favorite of the Golden Section and Zodchestvo, a house in Zubovsky, Gagarinsky, on Burdenko Street, Bolshaya Polyanka …
Here I must say separately. The site is made "on flash" - this is a fully animated project, which Europeans have a lot, and our architects have started to appear in recent years. The technology has one drawback, usually these sites are curious to look at, but it is difficult to get anything from them, download images and print texts. Therefore, journalists do not like them. Here, however, the problem is solved - all pictures are enlarged, if necessary, they are opened in a separate window, the texts are printed. In general, you can see quite a lot, the buildings are shown, and not only indicate their presence with conventional "stamps" - they say, for the rest, go to the paper catalog. This site itself is like a directory, it was made in order to admire good architecture, which, it turns out, is possible on the Internet.
