This institution is dedicated to biodiversity as an essential feature of life on Earth. The richness of Panama's nature makes this country an ideal location for such a museum.
Designed by Frank Gehry, the complex will be located in the middle of a vast park, highlighting the diversity of flora and fauna of Central America. It will be designed by the landscape architect Edwina von Gal.
The pavilions of the museum will contain a variety of exhibits that will allow the visitor to get closer to nature, both literally and figuratively. Bruce Mau is responsible for the design of the exhibition.
The buildings will be covered with multi-colored roofs that will be visible from a long distance - counting on those tourists who will arrive in the city on cruise ships from the Pacific Ocean.
The construction will be completed in 2009.
