The program of the present Days has been drawn up in such a way as to demonstrate the buildings of famous contemporary architects, examples of the adaptation of historical architecture, and the work of young architectural firms. Modern architecture can be seen both from the bus window - the "Freedom of Access" project as part of its "Moscow 2009" program plans to show the most interesting and significant objects that have appeared in the capital over the past year - and on several walking tours, which will be conducted by the authors themselves. and building developers. In particular, architect Andrei Asadov will talk about the interiors of the new building of the educational theater of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts GITIS, erected in Novye Cheryomushki according to the project of the Mosproekt-4 Institute, representatives of the Mozaik Development company will organize a trip to the cottage village “Smartville Dmitrovka” - an interesting example of the implementation of the principles European rationalism in Russian conditions - and the Inteko company will present the updated design of the museum of unique cars "Autoville", located in the multifunctional complex "Fusion_Park".

One of the traditions of the Days of Architecture is serious attention to the buildings of the Soviet period, and not only the world-famous avant-garde, but also the so-called. Stalinist objects, as well as the monuments of modernism of the 1960s. This year, the projects "Sovarkh", "Moskonstrukt" and "New Moscow" will present their programs within the framework of the festival, and the participants will be offered a choice of several formats of acquaintance with the objects at once - in addition to traditional walking tours, they can be visited by bicycle or studied at special seminar.

“We always wanted people attending the Days of Architecture to be not just passive listeners of excursions and lectures, but to actively participate in the creative process, and this year we will create all the conditions for this,” says Alexander Zmeul, General Director of Pi -Arkh , which is the organizer of the festival. On October 2, ARCHPOLE bureau will hold a workshop dedicated to such an architectural genre as a gazebo. It is no secret that in modern Moscow a gazebo is at best a shop on the street, but there is no hope for something more original, a place where you can stop, chat, drink coffee. But the festival participants will have a real chance, finally, to formulate what they imagine a gazebo of the new century and to embody this vision in an architectural project.

To all of the above, perhaps, there is only one thing to add. All events of the Days of Architecture are completely free. And, by the way, this is not only a feature of the Moscow festival - actions timed to coincide with the International Day of Architecture will be held in Nizhny Novgorod (by the way, for the fourth time already!) And Yekaterinburg and will also be available to everyone. In Nizhny Novgorod, an architectural orienteering competition "In Search of the Best" will take place, an exhibition of Hundertwasser will open in the Regional Library and an interactive discussion of the project of a recreational zone on the Oka embankment and the Grebnevsky sands island will take place. The Yekaterinburg Ural State Architectural Academy will host a round table "The Abduction of Europe" dedicated to the modern architecture of Central Europe.
