The first, Carnegie 57 tower opposite Carnegie Hall, claims to be the tallest residential building in the city (306 m) at the time of completion (2013). According to city law, a high-rise structure on a selected site must be designed with several successive indents from the red line. To accommodate these requirements with a cohesive silhouette, Portzamparc designed the indents as "cascades" falling down in glass streams. But the design of the facades was not limited to this: three types of panels were used for them, which together create an effect that reminds the author of the ornament of Adele Bloch-Bauer's dress in her famous portrait by Klimt.

The second project, the Riverside Center residential complex with six glass towers (total area approx. 280 thousand m2) is still at the stage of approval by the city authorities. Both of these works mark the return of Portzampark to New York, which he once “conquered” with his LVMH skyscraper (1999), but then worked for a long time “on the table”: over the years he has accumulated 10 unrealized projects for this city.
