The new building will appear on the Black Sea coast, in the Sarpi resort near Batumi. Its elongated volume will open onto the beach, where it will be completed by an observation tower. This tower will not only play a functional role, but also make the customs border point a local attraction. The intricate outline of its terraces, which act as consoles, is inspired, according to the architects, by the stormy Black Sea waves. They also believe that their original construction will be a challenge to similar structures, which are no different from each other anywhere in the world.
The complex will include a customs post, administrative and service premises, a cafe and a meeting room. Construction should begin and end in 2011.
