Building U15 is located in the new mixed development area Milanofiori 2000, in its northern part, the master plan of which was developed by Erik van Egeraat. To meet the requirements of this master plan and effectively use the area of the site, Dzukki chose an “inward-folding”, serpentine plan. In his opinion, it combines the advantages of the H-shaped and centric layout.
The curvature of the lines of the building emphasizes the solution of its facades. The curtain wall is composed of alternating strips of clear glass and panels of gray, gold and light brown anodized aluminum.
Outside, the facades are closed by a blinds system: perforated aluminum sheets are folded in different ways; their colors are the natural color of the anodized coating. Together they are perceived as uneven polychrome bark on the trunk of a huge tree.
The building is surrounded by open space, partly paved, partly landscaped.
