Angkasa Raya Tower will be located in the business center of the city, next to the famous twin skyscrapers "Petronas". Her project is a variation on the theme of a traditional high-rise prism building. The three main parts of the building program - offices, a hotel (200 rooms) and 280 apartments - are divided into three volumes that form a complex composition.
Shereren apparently got this idea while working at OMA: until recently he was one of Rem Koolhaas's partners and only in 2010 founded his own bureau; This combination of several blocks with platforms has been used in the projects of the Shenzhen City Exchange, the Museum Plaza complex in Louisville and many other works of Koolhaas over the past ten years.
The 65-storey Angkasa Raya (268 m) includes, in addition to "prisms" with faceted glass facades, two zones of green platforms that serve as public space. The first is located at the base of the tower: there will be shops, cafes, parking and prayer rooms. The second is located much higher, in the "heart" of the building, where all three of its blocks are connected; a restaurant, bar, multifunctional halls and observation terraces are planned for it. Both multi-tiered "gardens" should become a place of rest for the townspeople from the bustle and cramped metropolis; also with their help, the energy of the streets of Kuala Lumpur will revive the new building.
Construction should begin in the first quarter of 2012 and be completed in 2016.
