The selection of the winners took place in three stages. At the first stage, the Public Council under the leadership of Andrey Bokov, by closed vote, selected 30 long-list objects from the 51st bidder. At the second stage, the Expert Council, chaired by Sergei Tchoban, also compiled a short list of 12 buildings by closed vote. And in the final, by an open nationwide online vote, the winner was chosen from the shortlist - the building with the most votes.
According to the organizers, residents of 20 countries of the world took part in the online voting. It's funny that the Norwegians are in second place after Russians in terms of activity - they cast 1,769 votes for Russian objects. I would like to know if the inhabitants of this country are so keenly interested in everyone or only in our architecture?
Several innovations have appeared in the competition this year. Firstly, at the initiative of a member of the public council Andrei Asadov, all participants in the shortlist were now distributed according to nominations and received prizes in them. And this is true - it is difficult to compare objects that are different in typology and volume. Secondly, this time the voting dynamics could be monitored in real time. This visibility has led to an unexpected effect - compared to last year, the number of voters increased from 8 thousand to 33. This excitement was explained by the competition between Novosibirsk and Moscow. On the very first day, the citizens of Novosibirsk submitted a thousand votes for their fellow countrymen and the complex of buildings of the ICT cluster of the Academpark, which they value very much, and took the lead. Muscovites accepted the challenge and began to vote diligently for their own people, and especially for the House on Mosfilmovskaya.
The result is obvious - "the pride of Moscow", as the curator of the Prize and the host of the ceremony Vika Abel called it - "The House on Mosfilmovskaya" received the Grand Prix. When presenting the diploma, Sergei Tchoban noted that the developer, Don-Stroy Invest, deserves much of the credit for the victory of the object. So the customer received exactly the same commemorative diploma. The author of the project, head of the workshop Sergey Skuratov said: “Thanks to the organizers for popularizing modern architecture. Moscow has long deserved a bold and vibrant architecture."
And the Novosibirsk general designer “Siberian Design Institute” with its technopark won the “Information Technologies of the Year” nomination.
The most prizes were collected by the Dutch architect Erick van Egeraat. He won in the nomination "Shopping and entertainment complex of the year" with the "Vershina" shopping and entertainment complex in Surgut.
For the same object, he received the Grand Prix of the Golden Capital competition. The spectacular prize - half of the head of an architect cast from bronze, in whose brain a spiral of creative thought coiled - was presented by the chairman of the organizing committee of the Golden Capital festival, director of the Siberian Center for the Promotion of Architecture Tatyana Ivanenko.
Finally, for the second year in a row, the Dutchman receives a special prize from Made in future magazine and strategic partner of the Duvils Group award. The architect was noticeably pleased with such recognition and hospitality, and modestly remarked in response: “The quality of architecture can be appreciated not only by a professional, but also by an ordinary public. This building was built outside of Moscow and is much better built than many buildings in Moscow."
The workshop of Alexander Asadov received two prizes for two objects. The Federal Research and Clinical Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology won in the nomination "The Brightest Social Project of the Year". Andrei Asadov clarified that "the initiators of such a striking architecture are doctors, who asked to make a building that does not look like a hospital."
The second object of the workshop - the entrance group to the village "Starocherkasskaya Riviera" received a diploma in the nomination "Architectural Concept of the Year". Andrey Asadov commented on this work: “We made a concept, and the customer said that he would try to implement it with the help of local designers - a common tragedy in our work. But sometimes there are exceptions that add freshness to the result. In this case, it turned out that way - everything that was in the original project was preserved, even the oblique bindings from the sketch remained and gave dynamism to the composition."
Andrei Asadov invited the organizers of the award to go all the way and post information about the voting process on the largest Internet portals - with a counter to create a real architectural competition. In his opinion, "for all the provocativeness of such a decision, it will arouse great interest in the event."
The architectural bureau "A. Len" from St. Petersburg also won in two nominations: "Low-rise residential complex of the year" - a low-rise residential complex Lake House.
and "Residential House of the Year" - Crystals of Krestovsky - Malachite building.
About the object from Nizhny Novgorod, which won in the nomination "Sports Complex of the Year", the curator said that when it was recommended to the organizers, it took them a long time to find information about the building and the authors and get in touch with them. So far, the architect Yuri Rybin has not nominated the Gymnast sports complex for an award. Having seen his work on the network, the author of the project, Alexey Kamenyuk, also appeared. Gimnast also received a partnership prize from the Building Technologies publishing house with the wording “for a completely satisfied sports interest”. The award was a certificate for publication in the tenth anniversary yearbook "Quality Architecture".
The reconstruction of the Moscow Planetarium won in the category “Reconstruction of the Year”.
Presenting the prize to the project manager Alexander Anisimov, the director of the Architect news agency Yekaterina Chugunova called this project very socially significant.
The construction headquarters of Totan Kuzembaev won in the "Wooden House of the Year" nomination.
It was a rare case, Totan Kuzembaev noted, when the builders wanted to settle down on the construction site culturally, thoroughly and comfortably, and did not settle, as always, in temporary wagons.
Receiving the “Modernization of the Year” prize for an extravagant camouflage outfit for a country house, Levon Airapetov shared his long-suffering: “This is a typical village where ordinary“new Russians”live. We decided to instill in them something that we like, not them. And in order for them to like it, they need to read more and listen to music."
Julia Borisov (UNK project), who won the Country House of the Year nomination, had adequate contact with the customer and the environment: “This is my friend's house. He was at the facility only 3 times, and the fourth - he moved in. I wish all my colleagues customers who are just as easy to work with."
Yuliy Borisov also received a partnership prize - a certificate for publication in the St. Petersburg edition of Zagorodnaya Residence.
Some objects from the Long List also received special awards:
With the construction of the Oak land house, the Roman Leonidov & Partners bureau won the second half of the bronze head - the Golden Capital prize (Novosibirsk) in the Low-rise buildings category.
The National Agency for Low-Rise and Cottage Construction (NAMIKS) awarded the townhouse village "Aprelevka Town" submitted for the competition, which was realized in just 2.5 months.
For the special architecture of the interior space, the Rakushka dwelling house of Yuri Gaidukov (Sverdlovsk) received a special award from Nayda - an elegant and cheerful armchair.
For the first time, Duvils Group presented a special prize "For the brightest facade solution" to the "Leto" shopping and entertainment complex from St. Petersburg. Anastasia Podakina, advisor to the president of Hals-Development, who built this complex, said that the facade is so bright that it is noticed even when in the sky. There was a case when an Arab sheikh was flying in a helicopter to Pulkovo, noticed the glow of "Summer" and said: "I want to go there." The pilot fulfilled the wish and landed in the parking lot in front of the complex.
