The standard is based on Russian legislative acts, recommendations of international organizations on "green building", as well as advanced WHO developments. The certification was carried out by the EcoStandard group. As a result of the assessment "Active House", a joint project of the Russian company "Zagorodny Proekt" and the Danish company VELUX, received 85 points out of 110 possible. This is the highest mark received from the EcoStandard group specialists.
“You can't change anything by fighting the existing reality. To change something, create a new model that makes the existing one hopelessly obsolete. (Buckminster Fuller).
The Active Home concept takes into account the requirements for sustainable buildings of the future and focuses on the health and comfort of people. The houses are designed with the locality in mind, with an emphasis on maximizing the use of natural resources, making these houses CO2 neutral.
The European concept of Active House has a long-term goal of creating buildings that create healthier and more comfortable living conditions. Within the framework of the Active House concept, many European projects have already been implemented and are currently being implemented. VELUX supports concept ideas and is a member of the Active House alliance. VELUX's European Exemplary House 2020 program envisages the construction of 6 experimental houses, according to the Active House concept.
The Russian project VELUX "Active House" is the first in Russia, developed according to the same principles and implemented jointly by the largest European and Russian companies: "Country Project" (Russia), VELUX (Denmark), "Saint-Gobain Isover" (France), NLK Domostroenie (Russia), Danfoss (Denmark). The project is being implemented with the support of the Danish Embassy in Russia, the Union of Architects of Russia, the Institute of Building Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Association of Wooden House Building, the Passive House Institute and became the first project certified according to the developed Russian "Green Standard" of construction.
A characteristic feature of this standard is that certification is carried out on the basis of multifaceted laboratory studies and a wide range of measurements, which take place in parallel with the analysis of project documentation and an audit of the building itself. During the assessment, the parameters of the internal environment, the impact on the environment, taking into account the stages of the building's life cycle, energy efficiency, reduction in water consumption, and thermal insulation properties are checked. In short, almost everything - from air quality to architectural solutions.
Specialists of the ecological company EcoStandard group began monitoring the internal environment of the first Active House in our country at the end of last summer. For this, various sensor sensors were installed in the house, air and water samples were taken in the building in different weather seasons, measurements of the levels of electromagnetic radiation, noise, illumination of other parameters were carried out, which have the most direct effect on human health and comfort. Such a comprehensive study of the internal microclimate in an individual country house during its operation was the first in Russia.
The calculation of the energy consumption of the "Active House" was made according to three methods. In addition to SNiP 23-02-2003, a new, not yet approved version of SNiP "Thermal protection of buildings" was also used, and the most accurate international methodology PHPP 2007 (Passive House Package 2007) to date. It is designed specifically for buildings with low and ultra-low energy consumption and takes into account many factors not covered by SNiP, such as heat gain from the sun, shading in winter and summer periods, heat loss in the adjacent nodes, etc.
Based on the results of the EcoStandard group's work, the authors of Active House can proudly declare: the project not only fulfills all the basic requirements of the standard, but surpasses them in many respects. For example, the average value of KEO (coefficient of natural light) in the Active House is 8.5%, which is many times higher than the minimum set value of 0.5%. Thermophysical indicators of walls, roofs, floors, windows and doors are better than required by 36-144%, and the reduction in electricity consumption is 71.3% in relation to the standardized indicator. According to the existing building codes, the specific consumption of heat energy for heating in a house with an area of 230 m2 for the city of Moscow should not exceed 150 kWh / m2 per year. However, almost all new buildings do not meet this requirement, at the same time, the "active house" not only meets the norm - the consumption of thermal energy has been reduced by 5 times and amounts to 33 kWh / m2 per year! And the energy consumption, taking into account all energy consumption, is about 90 kWh / m2year. Such high rates are achieved thanks to the energy efficient building design, active energy saving measures, solar collectors and batteries installed on the facade, a geothermal heat pump and a number of technological features that are the pride of Active House.
Experts also highly appreciated the safety and comfort of living in the "Active House", the microclimate that is created and maintained inside the building by its technical systems. It was especially noted that there is no negative impact on the environment and the high environmental friendliness of materials, some of which even have special ecolabels confirming safety. EcoStandard Group specialists did not ignore the bright individuality and innovativeness of the architectural solutions of the house.
“Of course, we are very pleased that Active House has already found its“admirers”among developers who pay great attention to the topic of“green building”, architects, potential consumers, and journalists. But the expertise of the eco-standards experts is of particular value. After all, the opinion of the majority of those who have seen the "Active House" is not only rational, but also emotional. But emotions sometimes deprive the view of objectivity, and they are not taken into account during the examination. Here dry numbers, percentages, indicators, which you either meet or not, rule the ball. And the fact that Active House overlaps these indicators in many respects, I consider it to be our serious victory, "notes Dmitry Makarov, head of the Active House project of the Zagorodny Project company.
Mick Skow Rasmussen, General Director of VELUX in Russia, in turn, noted: “Innovation, energy efficiency, ecology are topical issues for Russia. We are pleased to see that today there is a growing interest in buildings that combine human health and comfort with the efficient use of energy. We hope that the Active House project will contribute to the development of the construction and energy sectors of the country."
