If there was such a material that would help fulfill any architect's idea, would be light and airy, would use natural light during the day, and at night would look attractive with backlighting, while it had a variety of visual effects, had any texture and color, you would probably want use it, right? Meanwhile, such material already exists and it is called - glass profile … This U-shaped glass, up to 6 meters long, is produced by the German factory Lamberts, and supplied to the Russian market by the ArchiBut company.

Using glass profiles in architecture, you can create unique translucent structures: shaped glass walls, roofs and office partitions.

It is unique because using elementary installation techniques or painting, or matte glass processing, combining glass profiles with other architectural materials, you always have the opportunity to get something that was not there before. This fact is proved by many (more than 32) objects around the world, which have received prestigious architectural awards and whose facades are made of fiberglass.

For example, here is the famous extraordinary car parking project in America by Moore Ruble Yudell Architects.

More than 12 prizes and awards in architecture competitions have been collected by this project, including the 2009 Los Angeles Architecture Award and the 2010 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Award.

When decorating the building, the hardened painted Prismasolar glass profile was used.

Or the amazing Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art project in the USA (below). This project was named one of the 10 Best Architectural Wonders of 2007 by TIME magazine and has won worldwide recognition and more than 15 awards and prizes.

The façade is made of hardened matte glass profiles of Solar texture with a low iron content, which excludes greenish tints in the glass. Several of the museum buildings create a sense of air and space during the day and shine with warm light in the evening. Huge buildings don't look bulky at all.

The most surprising thing about this project is that the architects were faced with the task of combining into one whole and not creating dissonance with the already existing buildings of the museum, standing close to each other, and the result conquered everyone - a complex of several buildings of completely different periods and styles looks harmonious.

We see that Lamberts LINIT glass profiles have a different texture: from light pebbled to large corrugated surfaces, as well as this material can be matte or transparent, have a bluish tint (Azur series) or have no shade at all (low iron series), save warmth or protect from the sun thanks to various coatings, to be painted in any RAL color … and this is not the limit!

In Russia, Europe and around the world, Lamberts LINIT glass profile is becoming more and more popular and relevant material, also because the physical properties of the profile and its use in a length of up to 6 meters, the quality of this glass and its technical versatility, allow architects to embody intricate technical solutions.

The material is also versatile in that it is used both on facades and in interiors, becoming an integral part of the space, be it a cozy cafe, a country house, an office, or airports, stadiums and museums.

For example, the KREA Arts Center in Spain. The hardened glass profile of the Solar texture was used.

And this is a stadium in Barcelona. Architect Reid Fenwick used several techniques at once in working with glass profiles, including the possibility of radius glazing. The property uses Perl glass, tempered, painted in several different colors to match the theme of the building.

Here is another unusual project - the office of Glass Italia. The facade is made of tempered glass profiles of Perl texture, Azur series, and has a heat-saving coating.

And here we are already giving a photo of a simple bathroom. This photo was not chosen by chance. A bathroom for all of us is a place of solitude and combining the fullness of light and sun and at the same time being protection from prying eyes - this is only a glass profile.

It doesn't matter what the style of your home is, because the glass profile is capable of being very glamorous and secular, and in a different look it ideally fits into the ultra-modern cold interior made of concrete and metal.

Nowadays, we miss nature very much and strive to use environmentally friendly materials for home decoration. Lamberts LINIT fiberglass is manufactured using state-of-the-art oxygen-fired furnaces, which are the most environmentally friendly at present. To save natural resources, in the production of profile glass, from 25 to 40% of cullet is used.

Thus, the Lamberts fiberglass profile belongs to biopositive materials, produced from natural resources, does not have a negative effect on humans, and does not pollute the environment.

In a major international competition organized by the renowned Sustainable Industries magazine, Lamberts LINIT glass profile was recognized by the jury as one of the TOP 10 GREEN BUILDING PRODUCTS and is the only glass product among the winners

Thus, using fiberglass in our projects, we keep up with the times, take care of the environment and embody the most daring ideas and fantasies.

It is not difficult for architects and designers to work with this material, because it is multifaceted and simple, from idea and project to installation.
