As part of the annual Moscow Architecture Biennale Arch Moscow 2013, meetings and seminars were held on the presentation of products from red Canadian cedar in Russia.
At the Embassy of Canada in Moscow, with the participation of Osmo, a presentation “Red Canadian cedar - traditions and modern trends in wooden housing construction. A new word in the architectural and construction market of Russia”. The event was held under the patronage of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the Russian Federation, Mr. John Sloan, as well as the Minister-Adviser for Commercial and Economic Affairs, Mr. Andreas Weichert. The participants were especially interested in the story about the famous red cedar forests in Canada and slideshows of projects of private and public buildings implemented around the world, in which this amazing wood was used.
According to Mr. Sloane, “There is a lot of forest in Russia, a lot of tree species, and it can be expected that more and more wood will be used in construction. Canadian red cedar is a very unique unique type of tree, a unique type of tree. Many of its qualities - durability and moisture resistance, and strength and environmental friendliness, and its smell, aroma, very original texture and color combinations - all these things make cedar a completely special special product that will undoubtedly be in demand among consumers in Russia.

Among the invited guests were Osmo partners from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Izhevsk, heads of construction and trading companies, architects, designers, and media representatives.
In the office of Osmo, Russia, a training seminar was held for the company's employees: "Red Canadian cedar - a universal finishing material in modern wooden housing construction."
The workshop facilitators - Patrick Cooper, Timber Specialist, Market Development Coordinator of Canada Wood Association and Antonius Tuschen, Independent Timber Trade Expert of the German Timber Industry Federation - detailed the properties of Canadian red cedar as a natural material and discussed issues that help to understand the specifics of its use Russian conditions.
Another seminar took place at the press center of the ArchMoscow-2013 exhibition. The main topic of discussion was the use of cedar finishing materials in domestic housing construction - in the decoration of interiors, facades, in landscape projects. Participants of the seminar and guests of the exhibition were able to get acquainted with the products from the red Canadian cedar at the Osmo booth.
