The building is 126 m long and with a total area of 9,500 m2 serves as the "gateway" to the university campus located in the Parisian suburb of Jouy-en-Josas.
To give this impressive building a human scale, Chipperfield broke it into several blocks and built them in a "ladder", moving them relative to each other. As a result, the main facade acquired dynamics, and a series of public spaces - "semi-courtyards" were formed in front of it. All facades of the building are clad with anodized aluminum panels.
Internally, classrooms and individual study areas are grouped around a “common room” located along the main axis of the campus. Also in the building there are administrative premises and an auditorium.
