Fireproof and durable ROCKPANEL panels, thanks to a wide range of shades and textures, allow you to create unique facades of buildings, endow them with individuality and originality. A prime example is residential buildings in the northern suburb of Leusden in the Netherlands, built in September 2013. The two tenement houses, styled as old farm buildings, hark back to Leusden's history, when the region was characterized by the numerous farms and sheep pens erected along the roads. Along with the characteristic roof shape, the key styling detail is the natural, uneven shape of the ROCKPANEL cladding panels, which resembles the time-aged timber cladding of traditional farmhouses.
The construction project was named 't Zicht, and it was developed by a group of ONB architects led by Lars Zwart. The buildings are designed in such a way that, being at ground level, you can see almost any side of the house. Almost every apartment has its own unique layout, and the windows offer panoramic views of the city and the surrounding nature. During the construction of the buildings, special attention was paid to ensuring that they harmoniously fit into the landscape and in the spirit of execution were close to the natural landscape. Therefore, it was important for the authors of the project to select environmentally friendly building materials. ROCKPANEL's robust and durable stone wool façade panels fulfill this requirement.
