On March 4, in the showroom of the ARCH-SKIN company, a presentation of books dedicated to the residential complexes Narkomfin House and Uraloblsovet House (Tatlin publishing house, ARCHIVE series) took place.
The Narkomfin House and the Uraloblsovet House were designed by one of the leaders of constructivism, Moisei Ginzburg. In the early 1920s, in his theoretical works, Ginzburg outlined the path of development of modern architecture, its connection with technical progress and changes in the social structure. These studies have largely contributed to the creation of a theoretical basis for constructivism in architecture. The Narkomfin House embodied the idea of a transitional type of housing - from an ordinary apartment building to a communal house with socialized public services. Currently, this outstanding monument of avant-garde architecture is in critical condition, but attempts to revive it as a residential object and as a center of social and cultural life are not abandoned.
The editions were presented by the editor-in-chief of the Tatlin publishing house Eduard Kubensky and the authors - the historian of architecture Nikolai Vasiliev and professor of the Moscow Architectural Institute Elena Ovsyannikova. Among the guests were architects Andrey Chernikhov, Alexey Ginzburg, Alexey Kozyr, Vladimir Kuzmin, Oleg Karlson, Yuri Vissarionov, Arseny Leonovich, Boris Voskoboinikov, Alexey Rosenberg, Mikhail Filippov, Mikhail Labazov, artists Vladimir Nasedkin, Tatyana Badanina, Alexander Konstantinov and others. The technical partner of the presentation is Hertz & Lumen.
