The name Vitra is a reference to the material of the facade - glass ("glass" in Portuguese - vitreo). The apartment building looks like an angular crystal with balconies-loggias "carved" into its surface, which have been turned into small gardens. In addition, a real park is laid out at the foot of the tower, which reminds of the famous Ibirapuera Park with the buildings of Oscar Niemeyer located in the neighborhood and the Du Povu Park, which opened in 2008. Vitra was built in one of the prestigious areas of Sao Paulo - Itaim Bibi.
The house has a total of 14 apartments and a penthouse ranging from 565 m² to 1,145 m²: each apartment occupies an entire floor. The infrastructure includes a swimming pool, spa, gym, children's playroom and salon. The lobby is dominated by a light concrete reception desk and a Brazilian mahogany wall.
Among the eco-elements of the project are a system for collecting and using rainwater, solar collectors, "sustainable" building materials (high-performance glass facades, etc.), a "smart" building management system.
According to Daniel Libeskind, the sources of inspiration for the project were the city of São Paulo - the largest metropolis of not only the Southern but also the Western Hemisphere, as well as the Brazilians - "a truly pluralistic people."
