A white building appeared in the Salburua area in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Administrative, sports and cultural institutions are assembled in a volume of 110 m by 60 m and a total area of more than 12 thousand m2.
On the first level, made permeable - with glazing that maintains a visual connection with the street - the most “public” areas of the center are located: a cafe, a salon, an auditorium and conference rooms.
In the basement there are sports facilities - except for the swimming pool, which, together with its own dressing room, is located on the second, top floor. There you can also find an administrative area, a library, an information library, classrooms and workshops. In contrast to the open first tier, the second is made less permeable and devoid - in the interests of expressiveness - of a human scale. So, at least, the architects themselves explain.
Natural lighting in the interior with a compact plan is provided by numerous "patios" that play the role of light wells.
