What is the main idea, the main message of your project?

Ilya Zalivukhin:

- The idea of the project is to form a single language of urban planning, understandable and accessible to everyone, from the student to the president of the country. For this, the analogy of the creation and development of cities with living organisms is chosen. In this case, it is the pinnacle of evolution - Man. Just like a person, a city consists of a transport frame - it is the skeleton of a city, architecture is its muscles, engineering infrastructure is its internal organs, city management is its nervous system and, most importantly, its inhabitants are the soul of the city. It is for us and our needs that the meaning and purpose of the city is determined, not destruction, but creation.

What will be included in the exposition?

- The exposition, according to the main idea of the project, is divided into five parts. The four walls of the hall are dedicated to the basic principles of the development of urban transport, architecture, engineering and city management. In the center of the hall - the main thing: the inhabitants of the city. The city has no meaning without us. Our health, intellectual development, recreation and culture, our children and plans for life, love, in the end - all this is the fifth element of urban planning! All five elements together are the exposition.

Does the “Anatomy of a City” project have a protagonist, or will it be dedicated to all Russian, large, or generally any cities?

- Of course, the most understandable thing is to help the one who is next to you, whose pain and problems you feel with your whole body. I was born, live and work in Moscow and the Moscow region. For me, this is one region and he is also the main character. On its basis, the basic principles of the development of cities as living organisms, both large and small, are shown. Organisms also come in different sizes, depending on the habitat and natural factors.

What does the “anatomical” approach give for studying the city, solving its problems? What is its main purpose, meaning? Is it possible, on its basis, to compare a city planner with a biologist or even a doctor?

- The anatomical approach gives a comprehensive understanding of what the city as an organism consists of. That allows you to apply certain principles of urban planning in practice, understanding the interconnectedness of processes, to heal and create healthy cities. In this, the comparison with the doctor, I think it is quite appropriate.

How does the special project fit into the theme of this year's “Architecture” - “New Industries”?

- The practice of urban development through the expansion of territories and the construction of new areas around the world has proven to be unsuitable. It is simply not economically viable, since it requires huge budgetary expenditures for the construction of new transport, engineering and social infrastructure. The development and modernization of the existing abandoned or unused areas of the city with the simultaneous modernization and improvement of the transport frame is the way our cities should also go. " New opportunities for existing cities! " - this is our plan.
