Architect and urbanist Ilya Zalivukhin (JAU "Yauzaproekt") has already told Archi.ru about his curatorial special project "Effective Cities". In the first lecture, he explained what urbanism does and how it differs from urban planning. The purpose of the special project is to derive clear formulas that include all aspects of improving the urban environment. Lectures and discussions within the framework of the project were held throughout the festival (October 14-20) and touched upon all issues of urban planning - improving transport, ecology, cultural heritage, engineering communications and other topics.

Alexey Timofeev, architect and director of the Yauzaproekt office in Krasnodar, spoke about his part of this research. The Efficient City is a continuation of last year's Anatomy of a City project. Using the example of Krasnodar, it turned out to create ideal models of a working city, comfortable for different generations, and structures that can work in the future.

Ilya Zalivukhin spoke about the existing problems of Moscow and St. Petersburg, which were calculated within the framework of the study, and also once again emphasized the impossibility of building new active settlements "in the fields" without an existing history, developed transport system and infrastructure.

All schemes and their detailed descriptions by Ilya Zalivukhin and Alexey Timofeev can be seen in the video version of the first lecture of the Efficient Cities project:
