We have already talked about the winners of the competition for the design of the Moscow metro stations "Nizhniye Mnevniki" and "Terekhovo", the results of which were summed up at the end of last week. Below are the projects of the other eight finalists who, along with Timur Bashkaev's bureau and BuroMoscow, competed in the second stage.
Nizhniye Mnevniki
Architectural bureau "Khvoya", Russia
The predominant material in this project is brick, which achieves the unity of style. The main decorative solution is the variability of the brickwork. This technique allows you to separate functional areas from each other, as well as place the necessary accents. The area around the pavilions is designed in the same style and landscaped: there are places for recreation, bicycle parking, and green spaces.
Praktika Architectural Bureau, Russia
This project is bright. The only darkened area here is the train zone. The lines smoothly flow into one another, the ceilings become a continuation of the walls, a large number of arches and vaults create a feeling of solemnity and spaciousness. In addition to the standard set of functions, the architects envisioned public spaces: a forum and an amphitheater, which will become a place for meetings and communication.
Alexander Neznamov, Russia
The pavilions of the station are a kind of metaphor for a pine forest - a box is formed by pillars-tree trunks. The interior space is distinguished by a convenient navigation system: stripes on the floor and ceiling serve as guiding lines for the flow of people, and large spots of light focus on key functional objects. One of the walls above the escalators is used as a canvas for a projector: on the bench in the recreation area you can not only take a breath, but also watch the northern lights.
Traian Bompa, France
The street pavilions are designed in the spirit of minimalism, but already in the zone of pedestrian crossings, the walls come to life and literally bloom. The theme of wildlife formed the basis for the decoration of the underground space of the station. According to the authors, they aimed to create the feeling of a magical parallel universe. Due to the curvature of the walls, the floral ornament becomes alive and voluminous, which creates the effect of presence.
Terekhovo
Architect bureau Gerber Architekten, Germany
The forest theme in this project starts with the design of the outer pavilions and continues underground. Walking along a pedestrian underpass is like walking through a deciduous forest. Even the benches seem to grow out of the wall, which allows you to achieve maximum naturalness, closeness to nature. On the platforms, the forest theme is replaced by the water theme. Here the architects draw an analogy with the Moscow River.
Architectural bureau Variant Studio, Latvia
The main emphasis is placed on the use of durable anti-vandal materials, as well as information content and ease of navigation. The panel rhythm on the walls and ceiling creates a sense of rush and guides passengers in the right direction. A large number of information screens are placed along the walls, where you can find not only the train schedule, but also the weather forecast and the latest news.
Evgeny Volkov, Russia
In this concept, information is broadcast even by pavilions, on the walls of which you can see the date and time, air temperature, statistics of the congestion of the nearest parking lots. Descending into the passage, passengers continue to receive information about traffic jams in the city, learn interesting facts and the metro. The lobby walls allow online voting for city programs such as Active Citizen and others. And in the platform area, you can interact with interactive panels using smartphones and other gadgets.
Alexander Mergold, USA
An architect from the USA proposed the brightest color scheme for the station. The predominant colors are yellow, blue, red and black. The author decorated the supporting structures with mosaic motifs of Vasily Perov's painting "Hunters at Rest".
