The results of the Best Office Awards 2016 competition for the best business interior were summed up in Moscow. The main award went to the OFFCON architectural bureau for the office design of the consulting company A. T. Kearney. In addition, the winners were announced in nine more nominations. A total of 84 objects were nominated for the award this year.
The Best Office Awards for corporate and public interiors is being held in Moscow for the seventh time and is considered the most prestigious and independent in the post-Soviet space and in Eastern Europe. The winner of the competition is the team “architect plus customer company”.

OFFCON
The first prize was awarded to the OFFCON workshop for an interior design for the consulting company A. T. Kearney. Premises 500 m2 is located in the business center "Bolshevik" - the former building of the confectionery factory of the same name, built in 1884. The room was a series of brick arches reinforced with reinforced concrete pilasters and beams. The architects managed to create a modern workspace and fit it into the context of historical architecture. For example, they decided not to hide the brickwork, but, on the contrary, put it on display like a museum object, preserved behind a glass shell.

VOX Architects
The office for one of the leaders of the Ural construction market is located in the business center of the Clever Park quarter. Office space (2000 m2) turned out to be extremely modern, with rational zoning. Its distinctive feature was the contrasting combination of surfaces of various textures: bright wall panels and furniture, partitions made of smooth glass and untreated, "brutal" walls. Moreover, the walls, cast from concrete in place, retained the marks from the formwork.
It is worth noting that Alfa-Stroy and VOX Architects have already collaborated on the reconstruction of the interior of the Yekaterinburg Koltsovo airport, and at the moment the architectural studio is preparing projects for another brainchild of Alfa-Stroy - the Clever Park quarter. “Although each project is unique, the company that builds the office itself and manufactures the finishing elements is still an exceptional case,” comments Boris Voskoboinikov, head of VOX Architects, on the joint work with Alfa-Stroy.

IND Architects
The architects were tasked with creating a space that would allow employees of the construction company RD Construction to work more efficiently and interact with each other. The brand's recognition in the interior is provided by graphic elements, the corporate black-white-turquoise color scheme and the geometry of the space itself with clear lines and right angles. The reception desk deserves special attention: its foundation is part of the company's name (construction), the other (abbreviation RD) is built into its end.

The office of the international company Japan Tobacco International occupies five floors (10 thousand sq.2) in the business center "Mercury City", and the staff of the division employs 500 people. The company is known for its democratic management style, which is reflected in the interior of the office: to distinguish the offices of top managers from other workplaces is possible only by transparent walls. The layout provides for many places for relaxation and informal communication of employees: lounge areas, bars, massage chairs, places for coffee breaks. For active recreation, a small gym is allocated, tables for air hockey, billiards and table tennis are set up. The area of the premises is also eloquently testifying to the attitude towards employees: for each employee there are as many as 18 m22.

Nefa Architects
Not so long ago, Gazeta.ru moved to a 600 m2 building2 on the territory of the loft-quarter "Danilovskaya Manufactory". The planning solution for the new office of the publication was invented by the Moscow bureau Nefa Architects. The color determines the white color interspersed with black (furniture, partitions frames, graphic images) - a kind of reference to the image of a newspaper page or a news website. In addition, the white color "smoothes" the massiveness of the brick walls, which it was decided to leave open.
Design Idea nomination - two winners
Championship.com office, Moscow
Nefa Architects
There were two winners in the nomination: again Nefa Architects, this time - with the concept of a working space for the Internet portal Championship.com, and the Arch Group bureau, which developed the interior for the construction company MRTS.
Championship.com is also located on the territory of Danilovskaya Manufactory and occupies several floors of one of the buildings (400 m2). Within the walls of the former factory, the architects reproduced an almost real sports arena with stands, road lines and mesh fencing. The historic red-brick walls have left their mark on the atmosphere with retro sports-themed photographs. In the decoration used mainly materials "no frills": brick, wood, metal, glass.

Arch Group
The MRTS company is engaged in the construction of subsea technical objects of the main pipelines of the oil and gas production complex. The contrasting interior from Arch Group is designed to reflect the company's specialization and its respect for nature.

Office project
When developing the internal design of the SAP CIS training center (1000 m2) the architects had to take into account the low ceiling height and the abundance of mines in the premises of the Riverside Towers business center. The training at the center involves playing out various scenarios, in connection with which a complex system of built-in furniture and cladding was designed. All classrooms are equipped with Abstracta mobile whiteboards and multimedia equipment.

Zaha Hadid Architects
The space was recognized as the best atrium
the Dominion Tower business center, designed by Zaha Hadid. In terms of the degree of artistry, the planning solutions are close not to the office, but to the cultural space, which is very significant for the area, which until recently could be called an industrial zone.
Nomination "Best Foreign Project"

Collaborative Architecture
The best foreign project was the office interior (1115 m2) in Bangalore for the development company Bearys Group. Lighting plays the role of the first violin in this planning solution. In the lobby, the sofas below are illuminated, which creates dynamics, and the light “tree” formed by the central column together with the coffered ceiling coffers fulfills not only a practical but also an aesthetic function. A high-tech control system and solid mezzanine-level glazing, which allows maximum sunlight to pass through, help save energy.

When moving to a new office, the pharmaceutical company Geropharm decided to abandon the traditional office space division and opted for the openspace format. The embodiment of the idea of an office interior (1500 m2) was engaged Moscow studio Design Solutions.
