On October 7, 2019, the winners of the prestigious design and architecture competition ICONIC Award 2019 were awarded, which took place in Munich (Germany). The new Argus sensor barrier from dormakaba was one of the winners of the competition and received the "Best of best" design-oriented product award.
An independent jury selected the Argus Touch Barrier as the winner as a security solution that was implemented with great care and quality, down to the smallest detail. In addition, the jury also appreciated the fact that according to the corporate philosophy of dormakaba, the product should be integrated into the architecture of the building as "invisibly" as possible. Argus accomplished this both formally and technically. Touch controls provide first-class safety, the door mechanism operates almost silently, the light indicates the different modes of operation of the barrier, a single monolithic structure, rounded edges, a variety of finishes and a modular structure all create a minimalist design language that allows this security element to fit into many modern interiors.
