As we have already reported, today the winner of the competition for the improvement of Tverskaya and 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya streets, organized by Strelka KB under the My Street program, was announced. The victory was won by the Yaroslavl bureau Plan_B, which competed in the final with BuroMoscow, ASD Studio and the team of architect Timur Karimullin and DROM bureau, Barbara Materia, Studio Most. It was originally planned to select three finalists, each of whom was entitled to a monetary reward. However, the jury chose four projects for the final at once, so the prize fund was increased, the prize for the winner was 826,000 rubles, and each of his three rivals - 354,000 rubles. A contract for further development of the project will be signed with Plan_B.

We publish all four projects marked by the jury.

In order to fill Tverskaya with a variety of events, the architects propose to create a system of mini-squares at the intersections with other streets. Also, the project of the winners assumes several levels of lighting, a varied paving structure (large stone slabs in the squares, small ones in the transit zones), as well as driveways raised to the level of the sidewalk to create the impression of integrity.

The authors suggest looking at Tverskaya from the side of the streets and lanes crossing it. The project called "The Other Side" is focused on the improvement of the streets crossing Tverskaya. Here, in the territories adjacent to Tverskaya, multifunctional spaces with stands, benches, squares, observation platforms and other objects appear. According to the architects, the network of streets on both sides of Tverskaya has great potential and can become an informal center of the capital.

In this project, Tverskaya and adjacent territories are divided into functional zones: welcome zone, business, cultural, and residential. A clear division will create a well-thought-out navigation system. As in other projects, ground crossings appear here, traffic lanes narrow, and new parking spaces are organized. Special attention is paid to the contextual aspect - it is proposed to organize a “mobile headquarters” that will broadcast stories about Tverskaya Street.

The currently fragmented spaces of Tverskaya Street are brought together by means of unified elements: paving, landscaping, pedestrian crossings, small forms. The underground passages here are endowed with various functions - they can serve as exhibition spaces, weekend markets and venues for city events.
